This guide will show you how to create a domain redirect for your website. Redirects are a great way to temporarily, or permanently, drive your traffic away from a particular domain, or promote brand awareness towards another.
Domain Redirect 301 or 302?
- A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect from one URL to another. It is most commonly used to rebrand or rename websites, and to associate web conventions with one URL to maximize authority.
- A 302 redirect is a temporary redirect similar to a 301. It is sometimes used in place of a 301 due to the aging effect that is believed to negatively impact your SEO score for a 301. However, in any case a 302 is intended to be used when websites want to test out new features.
At Kiiff, you can setup unlimited redirects on all your websites.
The video below will show you how to do this in cPanel.
Domain redirection is not to be confused with forwarding.
